July 31st-surf report for the Jax Beach/Ponte Vedra area ...Clean but flat. If you want to surf you need to take a long road trip, catch a flight to a location that picks up swells from south of the equator or wait around for another tropical wave to stir up in our swell window (high tide around 12:25 PM & low tide around 6:20 PM) ............ ....................................... ....................................... ....................................... ........................................ SHORT TERM WAVE PREDICTION

...after a nice run of consistent surf, the waves are now on a down-trend. As of this moment a possibility of an up-tick next week....

LONG TERM WAVE PREDICTION

...Summertime is here! Early summer usually means the 'summer doldrums', probably the longest flat spells of the year. The wave makers are usually the last of the backdoor fronts or a well positioned 'Bermuda High'. Later in the summer and especially closer to the fall, 'Hurricane Season' kicks in and brings some swell relief to us wave starved Floridians. Unfortunately, this may spell disaster to areas that are in its path. This year the Hurricane experts are predicting a busy Hurricane season so let us keep our eyes and ears open and enjoy the long hot days and balmy nights...
